These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the World Quiz website at playworldquiz.com and the World Quiz mobile application. By accessing or using World Quiz, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. About World Quiz
World Quiz is an online trivia and knowledge game. Players can choose categories, answer timed questions, unlock rounds, save progress and compare scores on a leaderboard. Features may be added, changed or removed as the service develops.
2. Eligibility
You must be legally capable of agreeing to these terms. If you are under the age required to enter into an agreement in your country, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these terms on your behalf. World Quiz is not directed to children under 13.
3. Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your password and account secure.
- You must not share an account, impersonate another person or create accounts for abusive or fraudulent purposes.
- You must notify us if you believe that your account has been accessed without permission.
- We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms or threaten the service or other users.
4. Quiz rules and scoring
Each category normally contains five rounds with 15 questions per round. Unless a particular challenge states otherwise, a player must score at least 10 out of 15 to unlock the next round. Scores, timers, points and leaderboard positions are calculated by the World Quiz systems.
Points, achievements and leaderboard positions are part of the game and have no cash value. They cannot be sold, transferred or exchanged unless separate written competition rules expressly provide otherwise.
5. Fair play
You agree not to cheat, automate answers, manipulate scores, exploit errors, interfere with timers, access another player's account, submit false results or use any method that gives an unfair advantage. We may correct scores, remove results or suspend accounts where manipulation or abuse is reasonably suspected.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use World Quiz for unlawful, harmful, threatening or fraudulent activity.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, databases, servers or administrative tools.
- Introduce malicious code, overload the service or disrupt its operation.
- Copy, scrape, republish or commercially exploit substantial parts of the questions, design, software or content without permission.
- Use an offensive, misleading or privacy-invasive display name.
- Reverse engineer or bypass security controls except where applicable law expressly permits it.
7. Questions and accuracy
We aim to provide clear and accurate quiz questions, but trivia information can change and occasional mistakes may occur. Questions and explanations are provided for general entertainment and educational purposes and should not be treated as professional, medical, financial or legal advice. You can report a suspected error through our Contact Us page.
8. Intellectual property
World Quiz and its original questions, software, branding, graphics, layout and other content are owned by or licensed to World Quiz and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the service for its intended purpose.
9. Feedback and communications
If you send suggestions, corrections or other feedback, you allow us to review and use that feedback to improve World Quiz without an obligation to compensate you. You remain responsible for information you submit and must not send confidential, unlawful or third-party protected material.
10. Advertising and third-party services
World Quiz may display advertising and may use third-party services such as Firebase, Google Analytics, Google AdSense, Google Mobile Ads and Google Play. Third-party websites, advertisements and services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. World Quiz is not responsible for external content or services that it does not control.
11. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information are explained in the World Quiz Privacy Policy. By using the service, you acknowledge that policy. Privacy and data-deletion requests can be sent through our account-deletion contact section.
12. Service availability
We aim to keep World Quiz available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The service may be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, internet failures, security incidents, third-party outages or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
13. Changes and termination
We may update the service or these terms when necessary. The effective date at the top of this page will show when these terms were last revised. Continued use after updated terms take effect means you accept the revised terms. You may stop using World Quiz at any time and may request account deletion.
14. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, World Quiz is provided on an “as available” basis without guarantees that all content will always be accurate, complete or available. World Quiz will not be responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute should first be raised with us in good faith so that we can try to resolve it informally. Nothing in this section prevents a user from exercising mandatory consumer or other legal rights that apply to them.
